1000s of Hacked Web Sites – Daily Security Byte

April 12, 2018 By Corey Nachreiner

According to a MalwareBytes researcher, hackers have hijacked thousands of legitimate web sites that use the WordPress, Joomla, and SquareSpace content management systems (CMS). Once these attackers gain access to these CMS systems, they inject malicious JavaScript into the sites that redirect unsuspecting victims to malicious downloads. Watch the video below to learn more about this sophisticated and obfuscated attack campaign.

Show note: As you can tell from this video, I’ll shoot many of my Daily Security Bytes over the next few months from the road. Hopefully, this makes for more interesting backgrounds to each video, but it could also mean lower production quality. I will return to more produced videos as soon as I can.
