Long ago, at the Chaos Computer Club (CCC), researchers showed how you could recover fingerprints from a picture of a politician’s hand. This idea is back in the news again, this time with Japanese researchers claiming you can do it from a simple selfie picture, where the victim’s fingers are up to nine feet from the camera.
