Pyramid Scheme Ransomware – Daily Security Byte

December 15, 2016 By Corey Nachreiner

From a pure evil standpoint, I didn’t think ransomware could get much worse. Ransomware already takes your most important files and makes them inaccessible unless you fork out a pretty large payout. Think about it… The kidnapped files in question may be your only copy of your first baby’s birth video, or that important architectural CADD document you spent months on for a client, or even the patient record you need to properly give emergency care to a crash victim. Ransomware is already pretty evil, but now its authors have gotten worse by pitting us against one another.

Watch today’s video to learn about a vile new ransomware sample that offers to give your files back, if only you infect two of your friends.
