Beware Random USB Sticks – Daily Security Byte

August 9, 2016 By Corey Nachreiner

You’ve all seen it in TV and movies. A shady character walks by the front entrance of a high security facility and quietly drops USB keys out of his pant leg near the front door. An unsuspecting accountant, picks one up and his curiosity overtakes him. He plugs it in and infects the facility’s entire network. Does this attack scenario actually work, or is it just a fun work of fiction? One of my favorite Black Hat 2016 presentations answers that question. Watch the video below to find out.
