Cool! Have a question though…
Beyond the XTM 2X series, are there any reasons to still remain on XTM-OS 11.6.x ?
I have read some negative community comments regarding XTM 11.7.x and would understand those who would wait before upgrading, but on the current XTM-OS11.7.3-U1-C2 it’s working better than ever, so those negative comments are not justified in my personal opinion.
I’m just curious if there’s any comments available as to why we’d use 11.6.x (beyond putting it on the table-top appliances).
Corey Nachreiner says
No, other than if you have an XTM 21, 22, or 23, you will eventually want to move to 11.7.x, since it will get all the new features. We did do a spam engine change with 11.7.x, which is probably what generated the initial negative reaction you mentioned… However, we have continued to make improvements to that engine based on customer feedback, so I think you will see that fade.
So really, the only reason to stay 11.6.x long term is if you have XTM 21, 22, or 23. If you have a 25 or 26… or any series higher, you will want to go to 11.7.x (and the only think holding the 21-23 back is lower memory)

Fireware XTM v11.6.6
I have a question if this version is only for XTM models of Watchguard or will it work for Watchguard Firebox X Edge X10ew
Corey Nachreiner says
No. If you have a Firebox X e-Series device, you will have to stick to the 11.3.x series of Fireware, such as 11.3.6 Update 1 we released a week or so ago.
In short:
* 11.3.x is intended for Firebox X e-Series
* 11.6.x is intended for XTM 21, 22, and 23 (though any XTM appliance can run it)
* 11.7.x is intended for all XTM 25 and above.
Corey Nachreiner says
By the way, that said we will continue to release firemware updates for 11.3.x (your e-Series) for its lifecycle.
