WatchGuard Announces Fireware XTM and WSM 11.7.3 Update 1

June 11, 2013 By The Editor

Available for All XTM Appliances (Except XTM 21/22/23)

WatchGuard has released Update 1 for Fireware XTM v11.7.3 and WatchGuard System Manager v11.7.3. This maintenance release includes XTMv support for Hyper-V, along with a couple of key bug fixes. For full information on the issues fixed in v11.7.3 Update 1, see the Resolved Issues section of the Release Notes.

The important bug fixes included are:

  • Update to the WebBlocker categories used with the Websense cloud option
  • AntiVirus scanning fix to resolve intermittent crashes

Fireware XTM 11.7.3 also enables XTMv support for the Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisor, and installation files for Hyper-V are now available at the software download pages. We have also included an updated version (2.2) of the Shrew Soft IPSec VPN client with this release. If you’d like the latest Mobile VPN client, we recommend you download the Shrew Soft update as well.

Does This Release Pertain to Me?

If you have an XTM 25/25-W/26/26-W, 3 Series, 5 Series, 8 Series, 800 Series, 1500 Series, 2500 Series, 1050 or 2050 device and use Gateway AntiVirus or WebBlocker with the Websense cloud option, you should upgrade to version 11.7.3 Update 1. Please read the Release Notes before you upgrade, to understand what’s involved. Also, if you are interested in the Hyper-V version of XTMv, or the latest Mobile VPN client, you can find them posted with this release.

Note: The Fireware 11.7.3 XTM Update 1 does not apply to XTM 21/22/23 appliance owners, or Firebox X e-Series owners. WSM 11.7.3 Update 1 can be used to manage those appliances, and is recommended for appliances configured with the Websense cloud option.

How Do I Get the Release?

XTM appliances owners who have a current LiveSecurity Service subscription can obtain this update without additional charge by downloading the applicable packages from the Articles & Support section of WatchGuard’s Support Center. Good day – Does this maintenance release supersede 11.7.3 B419164 which was only applied a couple of weeks ago?

    On this email:

Your Release Notes hyperlink for 11.7.3 Update 1 is pointing to the wrong place. It send us to the release notes of 11.7.2 Update 1.

    https://www.watchguard.com/support/release-notes/xtm/11/en-US/EN_ReleaseNotes_FirewareXTM_11_7_2/index.html

    It should be replaced by:

Your links to the “Release Notes” is incorrect. They point to “Fireware XTM v11.7.2 Update 1” Release Notes……

      Brian,

Thank you for letting us know about the link. It’s been rectified in the blog post (unfortunately the email will still be wrong).

      Carlos,

Yes, Update 1 supersede’s the previous 11.7.3 release.
