Every week we hear about so many data outside-in breaches, it begs the question…Is there any firewall that can protect you 100% of the time? Is it possible for an attacker to breach a properly configured XTM 510?
Corey Nachreiner says
Great questions. We actually talk a bit about this in last month’s Radio Free Security (http://watchguardsecuritycenter.com/2012/11/02/radio-free-security-october-2012-episode/). Mis-configuration leads to most breaches, so a good firewall config is a must.
That said, NO technical preventative measure will block every attack, no matter how good it is. You need many other layers of security, including a good policy, user education, and a disaster recovery plan.
