We own a 750e and want to ask why we are still forced to pay for a yearly subscription to keep our device running with you do not do anything in return for us? There have not been any updates for quite some time now and I feel as though we are just getting ripped-off by Watchguard.

I’m sorry you feel that way, but I will point out we just released 11.3.5 for e-Series appliances in January of this year. You can read about it here:
So we have released an e-Series update just a few months ago, and we plan on continuing e-Series updates for some time to come.
Just so you know, the e-Series firmware does branch at 11.3.x. That means all e-Series releases will be 11.3.something, but we have and will continue 11.3.x releases.
Hey, thanks for the information, I was not aware of that update. The new site structure is more difficult to use than the old one and it’s not always clear what is intended for our specific device. We’ll be updating ASAP! Thanks again.

I agree. It’s a bit challenging getting used to some of the new site layout. I used to be able to direct link to a single software download page in my alerts, but the site now has different pages depending on what appliance you have. While this has taken some getting used to, even for me, I will say its better in some ways too.
Anyway, here’s a quick tip that really helps… Be sure to uncheck “Articles”.
It’s pretty easy to find our “Software and Articles” page, where we have our software downloads. The problem is when you get there we display a HUGE list that also includes all kinds of “articles” that have nothing to do with downloading the software. If you uncheck “articles,” and hit the “Go” button, it makes it much, much easier to see the software downloads for each appliances. Then you can even use the filter to just pick Firebox X e-Series, and you should immediately see the pages specifically for your appliance.
It took me a bit to figure out the new way to navigate this page, but now I know, it’s much easier.

In the previous 11.5.1 release, in the comments section, Stuart commented that this release was causing lock-ups on XTM 2 series devices. Was this a real problem with 11.5.1 and is it still one in 11.5.2? I’ve reviewed all release notes and comments and don’t see any mention of lock-ups being fixed.
Corey Nachreiner says
Though I don’t follow support known issues as much as some people at the company, I have heard that there is a corner case issues that affects some 2-Series running 11.5.x, which may result in lock-ups (I think it has to do with using too much memory during AV signature updates).
I hear there is a 11.5.2 CSP1 that fixes this issue. CSP Stands for Customer Specific Patch, so you need to contact support to get it. That said, I also believe they are doing a QA test on this, and plan to release and 11.5.2 Update 1 release. In any case, if you have a 2-Series and experience this, I’d suggest contacting support for CSP1.

Thanks for the prompt reply Corey. I’m looking forward to some of the logging changes I’ve read about but I’m a little gun-shy because of potential lock-ups. I’ll wait to see what “Update 1” has in it’s release notes.
I have configured 11_3_5 and still cannot run youtube vedios. Any suggesions?
