WatchGuard’s Michelle Welch and Shari McLaren Honored in Cyber Defense Magazine’s Top 100 Women in Cybersecurity for 2020

As part of its annual Black Unicorn Awards program, Cyber Defense Magazine has named WatchGuard’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Channel, Michelle Welch, and Senior Vice President of Operations, Shari McLaren, in its list of the Top 100 Women in Cybersecurity for 2020! This awards program showcases those who are shaping the future of cybersecurity and have broken through the glass ceiling by recognizing the industry’s top, well-respected and well-known women for their leadership skills and cybersecurity expertise.

The recognition of both Michelle and Shari in Cyber Defense Magazine’s prestigious list is well-deserved. In the past year, Michelle spearheaded the expansion of the WatchGuardONE partner program, designing and introducing specializations in Network Security, Secure Wi-Fi and Multi-Factor Authentication. In order to help partners better serve their customers’ need for simplified, unified security solutions, Michelle has continued to focus heavily on partner enablement and growing WatchGuard’s partner program to be more valuable and more accessible to a greater number of partners (and in turn, a greater number of end customers that need protection).

Shari’s personal contribution this past year has been focused on ensuring that WatchGuard’s customers and partners always have access to the level of support (and processes) they need to be successful. As the demand for simplified, unified security solutions and services continues to grow, her goal has been to optimize these relationships and make every interaction matter.
