PewDiePie Hacks – Daily Security Byte

Hey guys! I’m back after a huge hiatus. While I haven’t done a Security Byte video in a few months due to scheduling issues and a long holiday, I’m getting back into a normal cadence, and should be posting more regular video starting now. I currently have a backlog, so you may seem some videos release out of sequence. In any case, I look forward to posting regular news and security advice, starting with the interesting story below.

Over the last few months, grey hat hackers have joined the “BroArmy” to try and help a YouTuber named PewDiePie retain his number one spot on YouTube. They’ve hacked tens of thousands of printers and Chromecasts around the world, in PewDiePie’s name. Watch today’s video to learn what I think about these hacks, and what you should do to avoid becoming a victim.
