Extra Life 2018 – Daily Security Byte

Donate to WatchGuard's ExtraLife team!
Do you want to help heal kids?

Well you can, by donating to Extra Life and our WatchGuardian Extra Life team (watch the video below).

If you haven’t heard of Extra Life, it is a 24-hour charity drive that unites gamers in support of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Gamers dedicate 24 hours to playing video and tabletop games as part of this charity drive. As fun as it sounds, one hundred percent of the proceeds go to local Children’s hospitals, such as the one I’m participating for, Seattle Children’s Hospital.

This year, WatchGuard is taking part in this event (again) with our WatchGuardians team! You can learn more about Extra Life, WatchGuard’s team, and why I believe strongly in this fundraising event in the video below. I share some personal stories of how Seattle Children’s Hospital has positively influenced my family’s lives, and you hear how Ben Brobak brought this event to WatchGuard and has participated for nine years.

Children’s Miracle Network Stats

I know this is not our typical information security post. This blog is usually very focused on security education, and we avoid using it as a platform for self-promotion. However, I really believe in the good this event does. With that in mind, if you have the means I ask you donate to my or any WatchGuardian member’s Extra Life page. Any amount helps. You can find the donation links below. If you don’t currently have the means to donate, don’t worry. You can also help by sharing this post, the video, and our donation links with your friends or family.

Thanks for reading this atypical post, and for donating and sharing if you can. We now return to our normal infosec news…
