In the past two weeks, researchers have found two huge adware campaigns–one affecting PCs and the other Android devices. In fact, the PC adware campaign, called Fireball, may have become the most prolific malware ever, having allegedly infected 250 million victims. Since adware falls onto a grey line of maliciousness, it’s not always as easy to prevent as typical bots, trojans, and worms.
