FruitFly Mac Malware – Daily Security Byte

Despite common perception, Mac computers aren’t inherently more security than others. In fact, attackers have started targeting Apple’s ecosystem more, and Mac malware has increased in the past few years. That said, you’ll still find far less Mac malware in the wild than Windows threats. That’s why it’s still significant to see new Mac malware variants, especially when you learn they’ve hidden of victim computers for a few years.

In today’s video, I talk about FruitFly, a new Mac malware variant discovered by the MalwareBytes researchers. Despite being relatively unsophisticated, this malware has successfully infected a small number of Mac users, and hidden on their computers for years. Watch the video for more detail about this threat, and what you can do to keep it off your Apple computers.
