USB Lock Screen Bypass – Daily Security Byte

USB devices that make it easier for an attacker with physical access to your computer to hack it have existed for awhile. Hak5’s Rubber Ducky—recently shown in a Mr. Robot episode—is a great example of these sorts of devices. In that episode, a character plugged one of these devices into a computer for around 20 seconds, and it automatically grabbed the victim’s Windows password. However, as scary as that might sound, it has one major caveat. Devices like the Rubber Ducky can’t get around a Windows lock screen… that is until now.

In this Daily Byte I cover a new USB hack a researcher dreamed up, which can bypass the Windows lock screen and steal your user’s credentials. Watch below to learn more and check out the references for more detail.
